My Dream Job For many years since I was young I had the passion to be a police officer, I wanted to be that hero who I seen on television that saved everybody from danger and harm but little did I know it wasn’t as easy as television made it come out to be. As my school days passed I finally came to a conclusion of what I wanted my life to be like. High school was the turning point where I no longer wanted to be a police officer anymore, I grew knowledge of better opportunities for me and being a police officer just wasn’t enough for me. The Deep Sea Drilling Project (also known as DSDP) was the first of three international scientific ocean drilling programs that have operated for forty or more years that was designed to investigate the evolution of ocean basins by core drilling ocean sediments and the underlying oceanic crust. The Australian education is being faced by several seemingly intractable problems. According to PISA (2006), such problems arise on the basis that some students perform better whereas other perform poorly and therefore there is disparity in achievements. Education is the true driver of economic growth for every given economy. It is therefore the role of parents to ensure that their children obtain the necessary education. And its the role of the government to ensure that the right line of education is supplied and at an affordable price. In the present years, the level of Australian literacy level has fallen. The Australian reading, mathematics, science and literacy level has been recorded low on an international rank. Due to the raised need for education in Australia, there have been the implementation of various reforms to enhance its attainment. Some of these reforms will be discussed on this paper. The Australian government spends much on education despite the low performance recorded in the current years. Establishment of New Schools In the traditional period when the education system was introduced, only several schools were established. This was to the disadvantage of those who lived miles away from where the schools were located. Some parents were not even able to take their children to school since it would take them long to get to and from school owing to the poor means of transport. This made the education system to remain underdeveloped. However, though there still exist some areas where schools are located at long distance from some students, many schools have been erected in most regions. This has enabled many young people to acquire their education. The building of more schools is a great reform on the Australian government. The government is therefore bound to raise its level of spending on education to ensure that even the children of those who dont have incomes to spending on their children gets the necessary education. Research on the impacts of high literacy levels in developed economies has been a ssociated with high productivity. The Deregulation of Higher Education School Fees This is one of education reform that has been under a hot debate since 2014. In the 2014s budget, the government proposed to deregulate the higher education fees. Many voted against the deregulation and up to date it has not been implemented (Lewis, 2015). The contribution of the government towards supporting higher education has been fixed at 60 %, so the students school fees burden was only 40 %. This has enabled most people to acquire higher education certificates. However, the government is proposing to lower its share of contribution which means that an extra burden will be imposed on the students side. Burke (2016) argued that taxpayers and students are comfortable with the current funding system arguing that its a fair system renowned globally. This argument was laid down by the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) the president of University Student Union (RUSU) Mr. Ariel Zohar. There was an argument on the need for fees reforms by Birmingham on the basis that it wo uld help in sustaining the federal budget (Knott, 2015). The argument by Birmingham also claimed that the Australian funding system to be imperfect. The deregulation was expected to take place in 2016 as noted by Moodie (2016). The places of higher education supported by the government are low, that the rationale for deregulation. The government was to be able to raise the number of places from the deregulation of school fees. Yaxley (2016) and Hansen (2015) noted that the implementation will still be expected to take place in 2017. However, the warning of protests continuing if at all some extra burden is transferred to the students still holds. The Funding of Private Schools It is with great concern that there raised a hot debate in 2011 concerning the scale at which the government funds the private schools; its on a sliding scale. It is not a unique issue in many economies to have a low funding scale for the private schools. The Australian government ensures that it funds all the private schools even if its on a sliding scale and further it allows them to set fees for covering their tuition (Caldwell, 2016). This encourages many private investors to establish more learning institutions. In large capital cities, most students tend to attend private learning institutions. The Quality of Education There has been a devotion of huge sums of money towards the promotion of excellence in Australian schools and on improving the education quality. The delivering costs of education is going up as years are passing by; the Australian government is therefore expanding its funding every year. This is with expectations that there will be improvement is students performance results. The government has set aside over $ 70 billion towards this improvement. There is a need to use these funds on areas that desperately need improvements rather than developing school assets. Conclusion Education is good for an economy and therefore the government has to spend more on its improvement. It is clear that the students wont allow the government to raise the higher education fees, or rather to lower the proportion of its support on the same. The government therefore has to seek other means that will facilitate its addition of places on higher education. Some areas in education need great concerns since the school leaders are diverting the funds allocation to unimportant areas that wont have any contribution towards improving the Australian education policy. Korean Conflict North Korea and South Korea was once one country combined. That changed soon after World War II. Since the Soviet Union controlled North Korea it was mainly Communist. North and South Korea were separated on the 38th parallel line. The United States controlled South Korea so it was mainly democratic. The Korean War began on June 25, 1950, when troops from Communist-ruled North Korea invaded South Korea. The Korean War was the first war in which a world organization, the United Nations (UN), played a military role. The UN thought that the invasion was "a violation of international peace," and demanded that the Communists withdraw from South Korea. After North Korea kept fighting the UN asked it's member nations to aid South Korea with military help. Sixteen countries sent troops to South America and 41 other countries sent military equipment, food, and other supplies. China fought on the side of North Korea, and the USSR gave military equipment to the North Koreans. North Korea invaded South Korea because there was a disagreement between the two countries. The UN General Assembly told Korea to hold elections throughout the entire country. The elections were to choose one government for the entire country. The Soviet Union opposed this idea and would not permit elections in North Korea. On May 10, 1947, the people of South Korea elected a national assembly. The assembly chose to set up the Republic of Korea. On September 9, North Korean Communists established the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. When both North and South claimed the entire country, their troops collided. North Korea had about 135,000 soldiers in their army. Most of the soldiers fought for China or the Soviet Union in WWII. North Korea had many advantages over the South Korean Army. The North had airplanes, artillery, and tanks. South Korea had about 95,000 soldiers, few planes or heavy guns, and absolutely no tanks. When the UN joined with South Korea, at their strongest, they had about 1,110,000 soldiers. Approximately 590,000 were South Koreans, and about 480,000 were Americans. The other 39,000 were from Australia, Belgium, Canada, Colombia, France, and other countries. At one point during the war North Korea had the South pushed so far south that the only city they could retreat to was Pusan. Finally, after years of fighting, the Korean War ended on July 27, 1953. The UN and North Korea signed an armistice agreement. A permanent peace treaty between South Korea and North Korea had never been signed. However, US military presence is being maintained constantly to discourage any aggression between the two countries.

The Piano for him is an object of no value until it can be exchanged for some land. Value for him is seen in terms of exchanging or buying property of land. Therefore,Baines is a more sympathetic character than Stewart because he is more in touch with the Maori among whom he lives and they in turn are more in touch with the nature in the play. Although Stewart is very conservatively severely dressed,he wants to show that he is a gentleman and he only cares about how he appears to others as we have seen in the play. The camera captures him to comb numerous times his hair and care not so much about the image of his future wife but more about the reflection of his face in the small framed photo where Adas is represented. As opposed to Stewart,Baines is dressed informally,he stays more close to the land,gives not a big emphasis in the outer look but more to his feelings,has softer tones,as also his face marked with the special tatoos moko expressing not only Maoris identity but also his affinity with both Maori and nature,as a white Tarzan of The Piano. He has gone bush and has a strong relationship with the Maori people. He is the natural man that speaks Maori like native. When Ada arrives and brings the piano with her,Stewart sees it as invaluable untill Baines puts a value on it . In falling back on his patriarchal authority , he turns Ada against him permanently, where she sees him like a monster. Baines, on the other hand, thinks always of Ada and the importance of the piano to her . He hears her in her silence, while Stewart does not hear her at all. Stewart is never a husband to Ada. His behavior makes Ada look elsewhere, since he is not prepared to give her anything she needs. Stewart slips easily to the role of tyrrant for Ada,since her father chose him as his daughters partner. He is presented with a puritan patriarch order. The two mens contrasting relations to the Maoris also serve to give us their measure, perhaps a little too obviously: Baines is linked to the natural people and more interested in Ada than in music. Baines is illiterate but not ignorant. Watching Ada play her piano, listening to the music with which she speaks, he can detect a passion in this woman that he too wants to play. Stewart is a man that values have failed him,although he tries to show Ada his patriarchical figure. Most of the cases,he undermines her like a bargain. He has already accepted her muteness and he thinks that she snob. As opossed to Baines,Stewart denies the affection of love. The punishment from Stewart symbolically fits the sexual crime. In a rage Stewart chops off Adas index finger with an axe. When he tells Flora to give the wrapped finger to Baines, it it is with the warning that if he ever tries to see her again Ill take off another and another! (Campion, 104). Stewart shows here by cutting her finger his patriarchys brutal denial of female passion in all its liberating possibilities . Afterwards Flora is made to deliver the finger, instead of the piano key, to Baines. Stewart, unable to be a man with his strong wife after that incident , is after finding himself near her bed where he is sexually aroused by her victimized condition and undoes his pants. But when Adas eyes open, Stewart is stopped in his tracks, stopped in his tracks, and hears the voice that sounds in her mind. A man in Stewarts position ,though deeply repressed in his sexuality,expects to be able exercise his rights over his wife,but even there he fails. His hopefulness about winning Adas heart and love is as pitiable as his violence on her is odious. Even Flora does no longer see him as a threat to her relationship with her mother. He understands that he must let her leave with Baines. Sacrifice precedes the powerful resolution of the impossible conflicts in this film. Stewart sacrifices Ada to restore her and he regains himself. Flora finds her own voice when she risks the complete sacrifice of her mothers love. Baines sacrifices land, then the piano, then Ada, and after regaining her, finally sacrifices his old identity entirely for Ada and her love. As far as Adas side, she sacrifices the piano for her love of Baines, for Flora, and for her own will to live. The film ends with ambiguity. Baines, Ada, and Flora move to a town where Ada, is fitted with a metal finger,which has repaired Stewarts assault , gives real piano lessons and is learning to speak. Baines is there to love her and so is Flora. But Ada dreams of still being attached to the piano in the deep sea. Here we return to The Pianos deep structure of imprisonment and freedom. Imprisoned by silence, by passion, by bars, by men, by New Zealand, by Victorian custom, and by the will that was not her own, Ada escapes to freedom and finds her voice.
